Scallop Ripple Afghan Pattern:
Approximate Size 48 x 60 inches
MATERIALS REQUIRED:
Columbia-Minerva
Wool 4-Ply Worsted (4 oz. pull skein)
Color A (Dk. Pink) 3 skeins
Color B (Med. Pink) 3 skeins
Color C (Lt. Pink) 3 skeins
Color D (Cranberry) 3 skeins
OR
Nantuk 4-Ply Knitting Yarn (4 oz pull skein)
Color A (Dk. Pink) 3 skeins
Color B (Med. Pink) 3 skeins
Color C (Lt. Pink) 3 skeins
Color D (Cranberry) 3 skeins
Needles: One “Boye” crochet hook Size H
Gauge: One scallop to 5¼ inches; 2 rows to 1½ inches
With Color A—ch 219.
Note: Afghan is worked in stripes of 2 rows each of A, B, C and D. When changing colors, work off last 2 loops of last dc at end of 2nd row of stripe with the color to be used on following stripe.
Row 1—Right side: 1 dc in 6th ch from hook and in each of next 3 ch, * [2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in next ch] 6 times, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in next ch, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in each of next 4 ch, repeat from * across, end [2 dc in next ch, 1 dc in next ch] 6 times, 1 dc in each of next 3 ch, skip 2 ch, 1 dc in last ch, ch 3, turn.
Row 2: Skip first 4 dc, * working in back loops, work 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, [2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc] 6 times, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, skip 3 dc, 1 dc around post st of previous row, skip 3, repeat from * across, end 1 dc in each of next 4 dc, [2 dc in next dc, 1 dc in next dc] 6 times, 1 dc in each of next 3 dc, skip 3 dc, 1 dc in turning ch, ch 3, turn.
Repeat Row 2 for pat, working until there are 9 stripes of each color. Fasten off.
